The library consists of nearly 60,000 items and circulates over 80,000 items annually. The collection consists of books; paperbacks; audiobooks on cassette, CD, and MP3; Nook e-readers; kits; puppets; magazines; computers; and movies on VHS and DVD.
The Adult, Children and Teen collections consist of fiction and non-fiction materials. The adult collection also contians 2,000 large print books consisting of general fiction, mysteries, westerns, and some non-fiction.
A library card is required to check out materials; at this time we cannot accept your ID in place of your barcoded library card. All materials except movies are checked out for 2 weeks and may be renewed if no one else has reserved them. In order to renew materials, patrons must present the item and their library card at the front desk or log in to the online catalog from home. We cannot renew items over the phone at this time.
DVDs and Videocassettes are checked out for 3 business days. We have a limit of 10 movie titles (5 in DVD format and 5 in VHS format) that can be loaned to any adult cardholder at one time. Patrons must be 17 or older and have an active adult library card in order to check out movies.
The Library suscribes to approximately 60 periodical titles as well as the Fort Worth Star Telegram, the Dallas Morning News, the Wall Street Journal, and local publications such as The Grizzly Detail and The Bomber News. Back issues of these magazines and newspapers are stored in the back and available for use. Periodicals cannot be checked out.
The library's leased book collection supports the development of popular reading collection for adults. High demand (i.e. best sellers) are sent to the library as soon as they are published. In addition, leasing allows the library to provide multiple copies of high demand titles. Books that are not popular are returned and replaced with new titles.
